Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has declared Harry Kane would be his dream signing for the Red Devils this summer.
The Tottenham striker is facing an uncertain future in north London with the England international having just a year left on his contract.
And speaking on the Sports Breakfast, United’s 1999 treble winner Yorke believes he would be a perfect fit at Old Trafford.
Asked for his ideal transfer, he said: “Harry Kane. We’ve got to really close the gap on [Manchester] City, if we don’t, we don’t have time to integrate and think, ‘oh we have another year or two.’
“I think on the back of the little success that United have had this season, they’ve got to close the gap, and they’ve got to nail that No.9 spot.
“I think in the wide areas we are fine, if Mason Mount comes, he will then give us a little bit more, he can play as a No.10 occasionally, that is a position that he might look to influence the game a little bit more.
“But certainly we’ve got enough wide players, we’ve got enough happening in those wide areas so that is not a concern, No.9 for me is where it’s at.
“And if we can’t get Harry Kane, we have to get that kid from Napoli [Victor Osimhen], bur he’s untested, certainly in the Premier League.”
