Tottenham set to reject Bayern’s reported new and improved offer for Harry Kane

The Bundesliga champions have already failed with an opening offer of £60million plus add-ons for the 29-year-old.

And it has now been reported that the German giants have returned with an improved offer to sign the England captain.

According to The Athletic, Bayern are waiting to hear from Spurs at whether they will accept their latest proposal.

Meanwhile, Sky Germany have claimed that Bayern have offered £70m, plus add-ons.

The Bavarian outfit’s boss Thomas Tuchel has made it his priority to bolster the club’s attack this summer.

Bayern are still yet to replace Robert Lewandowski, who swapped the Allianz Arena for Barcelona last year.

However, it is believed that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reluctant to allow Kane to depart north London this summer.

Kane has only one year left on his contract, with it remaining to be seen whether he will agree to pen fresh terms.

Spurs are still hoping to convince him to stay, but with no European football on offer this season, they could have a hard time in persuading him to commit his long-term future.

The ex-Leyton Orient loan star’s former mentor Mauricio Pochettino – now Chelsea manager – recently hailed Kane as ‘one of the greatest’.

Quizzed on a potential reunion with the centre-forward at Stamford Bridge, the 51-year-old said: “I don’t like to talk about players in another club.

“But you are talking about one of the greatest, one of the best strikers in the world.

“It’s not fair to talk, it’s not fair to say nothing.

“People are not stupid, fans are not stupid, they are so clever and they know my relationship with him was always amazing.

“I saw him when he was young, grow up and achieve all he was achieving and of course we have a great relationship.”
