Report: Liverpool reach €40M agreement to sign Bayern’s Gravenberch

Ryan Gravenberch will undergo a medical with Liverpool on Friday ahead of completing a €40-million transfer from Bayern Munich, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

The German giants paid an initial €18.5-million fee to sign the Dutchman from Ajax last summer. However, Gravenberch was reportedly ready to call it quits one season into his deal after making just three Bundesliga starts for the club.

“He’s one of the biggest talents in Europe, has superb technical ability, always finds solutions in tight spaces, is very dynamic and a goal threat,” Hasan Salihamidzic, who’s since left his role as Bayern sporting director, said when Gravenberch joined the Bavarians in June 2022.

The 21-year-old will sign a long-term contract on Merseyside.

Gravenberch regularly anchored the midfield alongside new West Ham United recruit Edson Alvarez during his final season with Ajax.
