Man United linked with shock move for free agent amid Antony and Sancho uncertainty

Manchester United are reportedly considering a shock move for free agent Anwar El Ghazi amid the uncertainty over Antony and Jadon Sancho.

El Ghazi, who used to play for Aston Villa and Everton, can join Man United outside of the transfer window having left PSV Eindhoven by mutual consent last week.

The Daily Mail reports that El Ghazi watched Man United lose to Arsenal in their last outing before the international break this summer.

The report adds that the 28-year-old Netherlands international has also had offers from Saudi Arabia.

Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag has a problem on the right wing after Antony was placed on leave until further notice amid allegations of domestic abuse.

Meanwhile, Sancho’s future is in huge doubt amid his public falling-out with Ten Hag after the Arsenal defeat.

It’s understood Ten Hag held talks with Sancho on Monday, meeting for the first time since the player called out the Dutchman for suggesting he was left out of his last matchday squad because he’d not trained well.

The message from Sancho, in which he also claims to have been made a scapegoat at Man United, remains pinned to his X profile at the time of writing.

He was linked with a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Ettifaq at the end of the summer transfer window and Man United may struggle to offload a player of his calibre in January.

Antony will be out of action for the foreseeable future as he looks to clear his name.

In a tearful interview with Brazilian media on Friday, Antony refuted claims made by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin that he attacked her on four occasions. The allegations are being investigated by police in Manchester and Sao Paulo.

Since then, two more women have come forward and made similar allegations, Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana. Antony denies all claims of abuse.
