Pakistan was the primary host of the 19-day tournament Asia Cup 2023, later the tournament was organized to be played in a hybrid model due to BCCI and PCB conflicts, where Pakistan and Sri Lanka, both got the hosting opportunity for this edition of Asia Cup. The tournament kicked off with Pakistan taking on Nepal at Multan.
The six-team tournament was set to be played in two stages; Group stage and Super 4 stage.
