Jos Buttler Reveals England’s Preparation For The ODI World Cup 2023

The ODI World Cup is just around the corner and the defending champion England are doing their best to make a perfect team in order to regain the trophy. The marquee event will start from the clash between New Zealand and England on October 5 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahemdabad.

Before this ODI World cup, the white-ball skipper of England Jos Buttler has said that many experience players can be added into the squad and they will be given a chance in the series against Ireland so that they get preparation for the ODI World Cup.

After their victory in the recently concluded series against New Zealand, Buttler highlighted the growing experience within England’s squad. He talked on the importance of players getting all the freedom to showcase their skill before the 50-over World Cup.

According to a quote by ESPNcricinfo, Buttler said,”We’ve tried to be a really loyal team and selection panel throughout, it’s something Eoin Morgan and Trevor Bayliss started. If you ask people to play in an aggressive way, and then leave them out as soon as it goes wrong, it sends the wrong message. We’re asking people to take risks so there will be failures along the way.”

“I wouldn’t call it ‘Dad’s Army’ but we’re an aging group,” he added. “We’ve got a lot of experience in the format, so it won’t take quite as long to get back to feeling completely at home in 50-over cricket,” he added.
