India posted a total of 240 runs in 50 overs during the final clash against Australia. Virat Kohli (54 off 63) and KL Rahul (66 off 107) provided valuable contributions. Travis Head played a stellar innings, scoring a century and guiding his team to the sixth World Cup title.

India entered the 2023 World Cup final undefeated, having won all nine league games and defeating New Zealand by 70 runs in the semi-final. Despite being considered favorites, the Rohit Sharma-led team failed to cross the finish line, finishing as runners-up.

Ace batter Virat Kohli was named Player of the Tournament for his outstanding batting performances throughout the tournament. Kohli scored a record-breaking total of 765 runs in 11 innings, featuring three centuries and six fifties, at an impressive average of 95.62.
Skipper Rohit Sharma emerged as the second-highest run-scorer with 597 runs. Mohammed Shami led the bowling charts, finishing as the top wicket-taker with 24 scalps in seven matches. Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav also contributed with the ball.
