Brentford’s signing of Tottenham-linked Antonio Nusa for a club-record fee is on the brink of collapse, talkSPORT understands.
It looked as though the winger would link up with Spurs with the two teams locked in advanced negotiations.
However, the 18-year-old made the shock decision to join Brentford but that deal is now on the brink of collapse.
Underlying issues with the youngster’s back and knees have arisen in his medical and has left Brentford seriously considering whether to pull the plug on the transfer, talkSPORT understands.
Regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects, the teenager has chipped in with four goals and three assists in all competitions this campaign.
At age 17 years and 149 days, Nusa became the youngest player in Champions League history to score on his debut during a 4-0 win over Porto in September 2022.
The wide man has already won four caps at senior international level for Norway.
Brentford had agreed a club-record transfer for Nusa worth £23.5million – eclipsing the £23m they paid Wolves for Nathan Collins last summer.
And talkSPORT also understands that Brentford are keeping tabs on Toulouse striker Thijs Dallinga.
Though it appears unlikely that they will meet the Ligue 1 club’s asking price of between £30m-£35m.
The 23-year-old fired Toulouse to their first Coupe de France trophy last season, where he scored twice in the final victory over Nantes.
After banging in 18 goals in all competitions in the 2022/23 campaign, the Dutchman has fired in ten times so far this term.
Brentford, who have seen Arsenal and Chelsea target Ivan Toney return to the team, are keen to bolster their attack.
Bryan Mbuemo is currently out with an ankle injury, while Yoane Wissa is away at the Africa Cup of Nations with DR Congo.
