Manchester United star Marcus Rashford vindicated Erik ten Hag’s decision to start him against Wolves by opening the scoring at Molineux.
The Red Devils forward took just five minutes to break the deadlock in what is his first appearance since his drunken night out in Belfast last week.
Rashford was dropped from Sunday’s FA Cup fourth round win away at Newport, but Ten Hag elected to name him in his line-up for Thursday night’s clash at Molineux.
And he instantly repaid the Dutchman’s faith, as he sidefooted into the far corner from outside the box after being teed up by Rasmus Hojlund.
The England international now has five Premier League goals this season on his 21st top-flight outing.
In all competitions, he has found the back of the net three times in five matches, while also chipping in with two assists.

Many fans were left disappointed with Ten Hag over his decision to start him, after Rashford called in called in sick to training after his boozy break.
But United have no issue with the player going forward, having stated he ‘has taken responsibility for his actions’.
Following the incident, it is believed that the 26-year-old was fined £650,000 – the equivalent of two weeks’ wages.
