‘I feel sick’ – Stunned Jamie Carragher finds out about Luton goal on live TV

Jamie Carragher was in the worst place to discover Luton had gone ahead against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Reds legend was in between an Arsenal hero and a former Manchester City star respectively in Thierry Henry and Micah Richards.

Working for CBS on their Champions League coverage, news quickly reached the trio about a shock goal in the Premier League title race.

Luton star Chiedoze Ogbene pounced on a rebound at the back post to put the relegation-threatened Hatters in front at the home of the league leaders.

Liverpool hit back with four second-half goals to win 4-1 but, for a brief moment, Carragher was sweating.

Richards shouted: “I have breaking news in the title race. Liverpool, zero. Luton, uno.”

Carragher took a moment to process the news and left the CBS crew in stitches with his response.

“Is it?” the former defender said with a tone of pure dejection.

Henry and Richards both burst into laughter at their colleague, who shook his head in disbelief.

“I feel sick,” Carragher added.

Liverpool are now four points clear of Manchester City and five points ahead of Arsenal, who have both played one game less.

Later in the broadcast, Richards decided to toy with Carragher by feeding him inaccurate updates.

Micah Richards claims that PSG star Kylian Mbappe has more of an aura than Thierry Henry ever had

“Oh my God, it’s 2-2!” the former defender said to Carragher, before quickly adding: “Nah, only joking.”

The Reds legend can breathe easily now ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday.
