A 43-year-old man has been charged with common assault over an alleged incident involving Roy Keane at the Emirates.
Scott Law, from Waltham Abbey in Essex, will face the Highbury Magistrates’ Court on March 14 after being charged with common assault.
The incident is related to an alleged headbutt on Manchester United legend Keane at the Emirates Stadium on September 3.
Arsenal beat United 3-1 while Keane was working as a pundit for Sky Sports at the time.
Footage from the day showed fellow Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards break up an altercation between Keane and an unidentified man.
It was alleged that the person, who Richards was holding back, had thrown a headbutt at Keane.
The Red Devils legend was also gesturing towards the man as footage went viral on social media.
The moment happened as Keane and Richards were making their way down to the pitch near full-time.
Alejandro Garnacho just had a goal ruled out for offside while the two pundits were getting ready for the usual post-match debrief on the pitch.
At the time, the Metropolitan Police announced that an arrest had been made.
They said: “Police are investigating an incident at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 3 September, during which a man was assaulted.
“On Monday, 4 September, a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault [ABH].
“The man has been taken into police custody. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Keane and Richards both gave statements to the police regarding the incident.
