‘So beautiful’ – Spurs fans love Kulusevski for ‘we won in life’ statement

Tottenham fans reaffirmed their love for Dejan Kulusevski after his passionate evaluation of their 4-1 defeat against Chelsea.

Spurs faced the Blues in an enthralling derby in November and fell to their first defeat of the season at the hands of their London rivals.

Ange Postecoglou’s side finished the match with nine men but were praised for sticking to their guns and continuing to play a high line despite their two-man disadvantage.

Reflecting on the match when speaking to The Players’ Tribune, Kulusevski said: “My favourite moment was after the game. When we had lost 4–1, and we went over to the fans. You didn’t boo us.

“You didn’t whistle us. You applauded us. You understood what it meant. Yes, we had lost a game. But we won in life.”

His comments have been a huge hit amongst the Spurs fanbase, with one taking to X to say: “I’m not crying, you are.”

“Strong mentality and a special player, hopefully you can win something with us Deki,” added a second.

A third said: “So beautiful. Genuinely made me a bit emotional reading this.”

“THAT IS A HUGE THING TO SAY I LOVE MY CLUB,” added a clearly excited fourth.

Kulusevski scored Spurs’ only goal in the defeat to Chelsea, the first match in a winless run of five in the Premier League.

However, Postecoglou’s side have won eight of their 12 matches since then and remain firmly in the race for a top four finish.

They claimed a huge 4-0 win against fourth-placed Aston Villa at the weekend to go within two points of them with a game in hand.

Clashes against Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool are still to come, with all three sides competing for this season’s title.
