AC Milan have held talks with Aston Villa over a move for Matty Cash, talkSPORT understands.
The Villans are understood to value Poland international Cash at around £20million.
Cash has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most consistent right-backs since joining Villa in 2020.
It has resulted in the England-born defender to become a permanent regular in Poland‘s squad, where he boasts 15 caps to his name.
However the 26-year-old has been left out of Poland’s Euro 2024 squad as he continues to recover from a calf injury.
With three years left still to run on his deal at Villa Park, Cash’s spell in the Midlands could soon be coming to an end.
It is believed that Villa are expected to offload a number of key players this summer in their bid to comply with Profit and Sustainability rules.
Unai Emery‘s men have reported a loss of £119m in their accounts up to May 31, 2023.
And Cash could be one of those the club begrudgingly part ways with as they prepare for Champions League football next season.
Since arriving from Nottingham Forest, Cash has appeared in 142 games in all competitions, scoring on nine occasions.
He featured in 46 games during the 2023/24 term, where he chipped in with five goals and three assists.
Should he make the move to the San Siro, he would likely battle skipper Davide Calabria for a starting spot.
Cash in’t the only Villa player that could be heading to Italy, with Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz a target for Juventus.
talkSPORT understands the Old Lady are confident of snapping up the 26-year-old in a two-player plus cash transfer.
Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior are likely to be used in any deal, with Villa needing to raise funds by the end of June.
