“We head into…”Babar Azam gives a massive statement after Pakistan’s victory over Canada

Pakistan finally got off the mark in the ongoing edition of the World Cup as they beat Canada by 7 wickets.
This victory for Pakistan gave them slim hopes of making it into the Super 8 stage. Pakistan’s skipper, Babar Azam, was happy with the way the team performed and emphasized their positive mindset heading into their final clash against Ireland.

“Good for us. We needed this win. Credit to the team. We got off to a good start and took wickets with the new ball. We had NRR in the back of our minds.
The first six overs are very crucial here. You assess after 6 overs. Then we tried to take on the spinners,” Babar Azam said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Babar Azam played a captain’s innings, scoring 33 of 33 deliveries, which helped Pakistan’s innings stabilize after Saim Aayub was dismissed early in the chase. Babar, along with Rizwan, made 53 deliveries. Pakistan will have to win their final clash against Ireland and will hope that other results go their way for making it into the Super 8.

Reflecting on the victory, Babar Azam said, “We are going to go with the same mindset. The conditions in Florida should be better from here as well. I got out to the same shot. So, I was angry. I still try my best.”
