Rohit Sharma creates history, breaks Mahela Jayawardene’s long-standing record in T20 World Cup

India skipper Rohit Sharma, on Thursday (June 27), once again played a captain’s knock in the semifinal of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

The former India skipper failed to get going with the bat again and was clean-bowled by Reece Topley for 9 runs.

However, Rohit Sharma stood firm at one end and scored a brilliant fifty to lay the foundation for a good total. He scored 57 runs off 39 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes before being dismissed by Adil Rashid. Rohit Sharma also shared a 73-run stand with Suryakumar Yadav for the third wicket.
