Twitter Reactions: India enter Final of T20 World Cup 2024 belting England in Guyana

India took on England in the Semifinal 2 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 27. England won the toss and opted to bowl first aiming to capitalise as rain loomed. India were dealt with an early blow as Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant were back in the hut scoring nine and four runs respectively. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav played some calculated strokes and added 73 runs for the third wicket.

After Rohit departed for 57 off 39, SKY followed suit 24 runs later scoring 47 off 36. Ravindra Jadeja was joined by Hardik Pandya and the duo played handy cameos to take India’s total above par. Pandya scored a quickfire 23 off 13 and Jadeja remained unbeaten on 17 off 9. Axar Patel contributed 10 off 6 and India posted 171 for 7, a total they would have fancied any day on a slow track.

While chasing, Jos Buttler gave a nightmare for India’s pacers scoring boundaries in the powerplay. He was dismissed by Axar and the spinner also sent Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow packing. Phil Salt was cleaned up by Jasprit Bumrah and England were reeling on 46 for four. The defending champions could not recover as Indian bowlers unleashed a bloodbath with timely wickets. After Buttler’s 23 runs, the next big score was Harry Brook’s 25 runs.

India enter the final with a comprehensive victory over England

England’s lower order crumbled like a pack of cards and Jofra Archer showed some resistance with 21 off 15 balls. Axar and Kuldeep Yadav picked three wickets apiece and Jasprit Bumrah contributed with two wickets. England were bowled out within seven overs and India entered the finals of the T20 World Cup 2024 by outclassing the defending champions by 68 runs.
