Bronny James finally addresses the pressure of playing alongside LeBron James

LeBron James knew this was bound to happen, he was well aware that his son Bronny would get criticized and get accused of nepotism. The one who has to deal with the pressure the most is Bronny himself and we still hadn’t heard anything from him in that regard. Bronny joined coach J.J. Redick in a press conference to talk about various topics. The coach expressed he believes Bronny earned the spot as part of the Lakers and insinuated his father had nothing to do with his arrival. But the overwhelming majority of people who have been criticizing him for this will say that the evidence shows this was absolutely the case. Just think about one thing. If Bronny wasn’t LeBron James’ son, would he even be part of the NBA Draft?

Bronny James on pressure of playing with his father

It’s not hard to understand why there is so much criticism against Bronny James since he was announced as a new Los Angeles Laker. On Tuesday, he was finally presented at a press conference where he was next to coach J.J. Redick. When he was asked about the level of pressure he will endure while playing next to his father, this is what Bronny told the media: “For sure an amplified amount of pressure. I’ve already seen it on social media and stuff. I’ve been dealing with stuff like this for my whole life, so it’s nothing different.”

Coach J.J. Redick also defended Bronny from criticism and he believes the young playr deserved to be drafted as a Laker. He said: “Rob and I did not give Bronny anything. Bronny has earned this. Bronny talks about his hard work. Bronny has earned this through hard work. And for us, prioritizing player development, we view Bronny as like, case study one. Because his base level of feel, athleticism, point of attack defender, shooting, passing, there’s a lot to like about his game, and as we sort of build out our player development program holistically, he’s gonna have a great opportunity to become an excellent NBA player.”
