Queen Camilla resolves Buckingham Palace 'Style War': Kate Middleton and others can now wear her favorite color

In a surprising and elegant move, Queen Camilla has successfully de-escalated a behind-the-scenes fashion feud within Buckingham Palace, allowing Kate Middleton and other royal ladies to wear their favorite color, blue, without restrictions.

The “style war” erupted when it was revealed that Queen Camilla’s dresser, Jacqui Meakin, had imposed strict rules on who could wear which colors at royal events, with a particular ban on blue for Princess Kate, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and other royal ladies.

This rule was designed to ensure Queen Camilla remained the belle of the ball at important royal or political engagements. Kate Middleton, who has scaled back her duties due to her ongoing battle with cancer, found herself at the center of this sartorial skirmish.

Despite her reduced schedule, Princess Kate has always been a prominent figure in the royal family, often visiting different charities and organizations compared to Queen Camilla under the motto of divide and conquer.

    How did tensions worsen?

According to Express, tensions rose when Kate and Camilla had to appear at the same events. Meakin’s decision to banish blue for other royal ladies initially “ruffled a few feathers” at Buckingham Palace, as blue is a favorite color for both Kate and Sophie.

However, Queen Camilla stepped in quietly to resolve the issue. Reports revealed that the strict rules were relaxed, allowing Kate Middleton and others to wear blue, albeit in shades distinct from Camilla’s outfits.

“The Queen can now choose her outfits before all the other women in the Royal Family. It’s part of the royal pecking order, including the clothes and color. Her Majesty’s favorite color is blue, and so is Kate’s. Sophie is also quite fond of it,” a palace insider told Express.co.uk.

The fun side of the conflict

Initially, Meakin was apprehensive about allowing blue to be worn simultaneously by different royals. Still, the situation eventually took a turn toward the comical. “In the end, it all became a bit comical with all the ladies seeing the funny side,” the source added.

This change brought a sense of relief and freedom to the royal ladies, who can now express their personal style without fear of conflict. As Princess Kate prepares to return to the spotlight in the coming months, her supporters eagerly anticipate her resuming royal engagements, even if the intensity might differ.

Queen Camilla, meanwhile, has been praised for her tactful handling of the situation, proving that even royal disputes can be resolved with grace and humor.
