Former India skipper MS Dhoni has revealed the name of his current favourite bowler. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman has retired from international cricket and does not play in domestic cricket either.
However, he is still active in the Indian Premier League. As a result, MS Dhoni still plays with and against some of the best bowlers in the world every year. At Chennai Super Kings, he leads some talented pacers such as Matheesha Pathirana, Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande and Mustafizur Rahman.
At the same time, he also faced the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell Starc, Kagiso Rabada, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult and other leading pacers of the world. And the CSK captain has picked his former India teammate Jasprit Bumrah as his current favourite. The World Cup-winning captain revealed his choice during an event.
When asked to pick his favourite bowler, MS Dhoni had no hesitation in picking Bumrah and he also said that picking the India pace spearhead was an easy choice.

Dhoni’s comments have just a month after Bumrah’s starring role in India’s triumphant campaign at the T20 World Cup last month. The right-arm pacer starred with the ball as India won the T20 World Cup for the second time and the first time since 2007 when Dhoni himself led the team to victory in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
Bumrah finished the competition as the third-highest wicket-taker, taking 15 wickets in 8 games while maintaining a stunning economy rate of 4.17. He was also adjudged the Player of the Tournament for his brilliant effort. He is likely to be seen in action when India hosts Bangladesh for the Test series next month.
MS Dhoni set to play IPL 2025:
Talking about MS Dhoni, the legendary wicketkeeper is likely to return to action next year during IPL 2025. In May this year, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that the franchise is hopeful of Dhoni’s participation in the IPL next year.
“I do not know. It is a question which only MS can answer. The question for us, we have always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to him,” Viswanathan had said on CSK’s YouTube channel.
“As all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time. We do expect that we will get a decision as and when he decides.
“But we are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK the next year. That is the view and expectations of the fans and mine,” he had added.
