Meghan Markle is reportedly encouraging Prince Harry to move on from the past and focus on the future, according to royal expert Jennie Bond.
The Duchess of Sussex, who now resides in Montecito with Harry, has been praised for helping her husband shift his focus away from past conflicts, in order to fully embrace the years ahead of him.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle astonish Colombia with their dance moves
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond shared her thoughts on Meghan’s role in helping Harry move forward.
“If Meghan is encouraging Harry to leave the past behind and move on, then I think it is a healthy move. They have made their decision, left the working royal family, and left the UK,” Bond told OK! Magazine.
She emphasized that dwelling on past grievances is unproductive, and Meghan likely recognizes that.
Since stepping back from their royal duties in 2020, Meghan and Harry have settled in California with their son, Prince Archie. Their daughter, Princess Lilibet, was born in 2021. According to a royal insider, this move has allowed the couple to create the life they always wanted.
“It’s got to feel like an immense relief to get out of the UK and go down their own path,” the insider told PEOPLE Magazine.
Prince Harry has suggested he missed parts of his old life
Despite their new life, Prince Harry has hinted at missing certain aspects of his old family life. In his memoir Spare, Harry reminisced about cherished family gatherings. Jennie Bond further touched on this.
“It’s only natural that he now misses that connection and perhaps is still considering ways of repairing the damage done in recent years,” Bond continued.
While Harry may feel a pull toward his past, Meghan seems to believe that their time within the Royal Family is firmly behind them. According to the royal expert, Meghan likely views their departure from royal duties as a permanent decision, allowing them to focus on their future.
