Bookmakers to pay out on bets for PL side to go down after just two games

Everton’s misery has been compounded by Paddy Power with the bookmakers already paying out on them to be relegated this season.

The Toffees have lost both of their Premier League matches so far to leave them rooted to the bottom of the table.

Brighton inflicted a 3-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park last week, which saw Ashley Young receive a straight red card.

And on Saturday, Sean Dyche‘s men were thrashed 4-0 away at Tottenham, where they mustered just one shot on target.

Having battled against relegation since the 2021/22 campaign, many fans and pundits feel this could be the year that Everton drop down into the Championship.

It’s the same view as betting company Paddy Power, who have already declared they will be paying out on bets for Everton to be plying their trade in the second-tier next term.

Taking to X, they stated: “Early payout.

“After today’s hammering, we thought we’d save everyone the bother of waiting…

“So, we’ve paid out early on EVERTON TO BE RELEGATED!

“SINGLES & MULTIPLES. ONLINE & RETAIL. NO MAX STAKE. Settlements will be processed shortly.”

Pressure is already on Dyche, and things could get even worse for the Merseyside outfit should they be dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Doncaster on Tuesday night.

Speaking to reporters after the 4-0 defeat in north London, Dyche insisted his side can’t keep making mistakes.

His comments come after goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was robbed of the ball by Heung-min Son following a poor touch, which led to Spurs doubling their lead.

Dyche said: “We had two mistakes last week that cost us, and a glaring one today which is really difficult to take.

“And in places like this where we know they’ve got firepower and various people that can score a goal, at 2-0 you’re trying to get back in the game.

The BIGGEST questions for every Premier League team ahead of the new Premier League season

“But you know that you might get hurt again, and we did.”

He continued: “Mistakes change games, it’s as simple as that, goals change games.

“But if you’re giving players goals in the Premier League, it’s a very difficult thing.

“And unfortunately in the first two games, we’ve given three away.”
