Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Post Credit Scene: Does Beetlejuice 2 have a post-credit scene?

Does ‘Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice’ have a post-credits scene? That’s the question on everyone’s mind as the popular classic character returns to cinemas under the carefully crafted hand of Tim Burton.

The sequel to the 1988 dark fantasy comedy horror hit cinemas on Wednesday, September 4 following a successful premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival in August and will star Michael Keaton, Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara in a mouth-watering cast.

But does Keaton’s return as the Ghost With the Most feature an extra clip for excited fans once the credits have finished rolling? To put it simply, no. This is a return to the classic film format as far as Burton is concerned.

It’s also consistent with the original film which didn’t include any kind of bonus material either, although the production design and visual effects sport a retro aesthetic that will leave fans happily satisfied when the film cuts to black.

“The one thing that [Burton] and I decided on early, early, early on from the beginning,” Keaton, who stars as Beetlejuice, said to PEOPLE in February 2024. “If we ever did [Beetlejuice] again, I was totally not interested in doing something where there was too much technology.

“It had to feel handmade. What made it fun was watching somebody in the corner actually holding something up for you, to watch everybody in the shrunken head room and say, ‘Those are people under there, operating these things, trying to get it right.'”

    Beetlejuice doesn’t evolve

Modern films find themselves on a carefully balanced tight rope in order to make sure that they do not cross over from joking to offensive behavior, but this will not be an issue in Keaton and Burton’s latest blockbuster.

Michael and I both love the fact that [Betelgeuse] was politically incorrect then,” Burton, the director, told Collider in August 2024. “And he’s politically incorrect now [laughs].

“I’m just laughing because somebody asked him the other day, ‘Michael, how does Betelgeuse’s character evolve?’

“And we just started laughing because he doesn’t evolve – that’s the whole point!”
