Cowboys All-Pro misses practice ahead of pivotal Week 3 game vs. Ravens

The Cowboys have more than the Ravens to worry about in Week 3.

All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday, as ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter noted on social media.

Multiple reports downplayed the significance of Lamb’s injury in terms of his availability against Baltimore, but anything less than Lamb at 100 percent would be bad for the Cowboys.

Lamb scored his first touchdown of the 2024 season in Week 2’s 44-19 loss to the Saints, going 65 yards on the Cowboys’ lone highlight during an otherwise dreadful game.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero wrote that his absence “sounds like nothing major,” meaning it could simply be a precaution to preserve him for a game with increased stakes following Dallas’ and Baltimore’s upset home losses in Week 2.

With a loss on Sunday, the Cowboys will fall to 1-2 for the first time since 2020, when they finished 6-10. The Ravens, coming off a 26-23 loss to the Raiders, are attempting to avoid their first 0-3 start since 2015, which led to a 5-11 record, the worst of the John Harbaugh era.

If Lamb (questionable) can’t play in Week 3, quarterback Dak Prescott will rely on wide receivers Brandin Cooks, Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin and rookie Ryan Flournoy.

The Cowboys also have former Commanders receiver Kelvin Harmon, who hasn’t played since 2019, and 2023 undrafted free agent Jalen Cropper on their practice squad.

Fortunately for Dallas, it appears the team expects Lamb to be available.
