    McSwigan Records Fifth Goal in 1-1 Draw Against Austin Peay – University of North Florida Athletics

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla.  – North Florida women’s soccer (5-3-5, 2-1-2 ASUN) continued its unbeaten run at Hodges Stadium, battling out a 1-1 draw against Austin Peay (4-4-4, 2-1-2 ASUN) on Thursday evening.

    Paige McSwigan opened the scoring in the 25th minute after slotting home a pass from Zara Siassi, who stripped the ball from an Austin Peay defender before securing the assist.

    The Ospreys took a one-goal lead into the break, but the Governors found the equalizer in the 59th minute when Kylie Wells hit a corner kick into the back of the net. 

    Siassi made her 75th consecutive start for the Ospreys, tying the UNF record for career starts, which was previously held by Kristin Lazowick who played from 2007-2010. Siassi is on track to break the record on Sunday against Lipscomb, if she starts.

    • First Half: The first chance of the contest for North Florida came in the 11th minute when Julia Cosgrove put a ball into the box for Paige McSwigan, but her header drifted wide … the Ospreys opened the score in the 25th minute after Zara Siassi stripped the ball off an Austin Peay defender, finding McSwigan, who slotted home her fifth goal of the campaign … UNF continued to pile on the pressure, outshooting the Governors 5-2 in the opening period, entering the break with a one-goal advantage. 
    • Second Half: The Ospreys had two chances to extend its lead in the early minutes of the second half, with Allison Souers seeing a shot blocked and McSwigan hitting a free-kick off of the woodwork … Austin Peay found an equalizer in the 59th minute after a corner-kick from Kylie Wells found the back of the net … UNF pushed for a winner in a scrappy match that saw 15 fouls between both sides … Despite outshooting the Governors 10-5, the match ended all-square, continuing the Ospreys undefeated streak at Hodges Stadium.
