The Brit clocks stunning time at the Standalone 10km in Hertfordshire and knocks over five minutes off the previous British W75 10km record
STANDALONE 10km, Letchworth, Hertfordshire, October 6
Sarah Roberts has created even more history by running a world age 75 best of 44:33 over 10km.
The Brit, who ran the time on Sunday, did so on her 75th birthday and took over five minutes off the previous British W75 10km record (49:41).
Amazingly, it was a personal best for Roberts and much faster than the 47:12 she ran last year.
Roberts, who is the reigning W70 champion over 800m, 1500m and 5000m, also went quicker than the best time by a British M75 athlete this year, which is 44:38.
For context, her pace per kilometre was 4:27 and that’s quicker than the W75 world 3000m record pace of 4:31.
In the main Standalone 10km race, Annabel Gummow won in a course record 34:25.
