A day later after all the reports of Robert Saleh being escorted by security out of the New York Jets facility moments after he was fired by the team, Robert Saleh released an interesting statement in which he appears to refer to Aaron Rodgers.
Tension between the star veteran quarterback and the head coach had risen after reports indicated that Rodgers was not happy with Saleh’s decision. In his statement, to many is pretty clear. “To the Jets Organization, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible people. I will always be appreciative of the love and support from everyone at 1 Jets Drive,” the statement reads. Here’s where it gets interesting.
Aaron Rodgers seems annoyed with coach Saleh’s comments
“To all of the players, I truly love and appreciate every single one of you. The character of the men in the locker room made coaching you guys the ultimate privilege. Through all the ups and downs, each and every one of you showed up everyday and attacked every moment,” referring to the leaders on the team. Nobody is more of a leader than Aaron Rodgers.
What transpired between them
During a Thursday Night game, Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown pass and when he was walking towards the sideline Robert Saleh tried to hug him and the quarterback stop him on his tracks. Everyone notices, it was on national television and comments started to be made about their relationship.
Specially more about how Rodgers was not happy with him and they he conducted the team and the offense. In the statement it seems that Saleh has taken a step towards leaving it all in the past, at least to the public eye even if he truly feels different.
Now the quest to find a new head coach has begun and it will be hard to find a decent candidate to lead a team in the middle of the season but the Jets can be fixed looking to secure a playoff spot later in the year, but there is no question that whoever the new coach is he has to get along with the veteran quarterback.
