British Milers’ Club announce 2025 Grand Prix fixtures

The five Grand Prix meets will be held in Manchester, Birmingham, Loughborough, Watford and Bury

British Milers’ Club have released the schedule for their Grand Prix meets next season.

The five events – held in Manchester, Birmingham, Loughborough, Watford and Bury – are the showpiece BMC meets and have also doubled up as World Tour Challengers.

Attracting some of the best athletes across the UK and the globe, the Grand Prix events tend to produce incredibly quick times over the middle distances.

Cooper Teare, who trains with world 1500m champion Cole Hocker, produced a BMC 1500m record of 3:33.96 in Bury on August 10.

That same night, Kevin Robertson bettered Christian Stephenson’s 8:25.37 in the 3000m steeplechase from 2000, clocking a BMC record of 8:24.37.

Phoebe Gill, before becoming UK 800m champion and making the Olympic semi-finals over two laps in Paris, also recorded a BMC record in Manchester on May 25.

Showing no fear or inhibitions, the 17-year-old boldly followed pacemaker Seren Bundy-Davies through the bell in 54.95 and ended up running 1:58.07 over 800m, beating Ciara Mageean in the process.

Over the season, Gill went under two minutes in the 800m on an incredible five occasions.

The BMC’s aim is to improve the world standing of middle distance running in the UK, so expect more fast times next season.
