Stoppage time mayhem as super sub scores back-to-back stunners in insane PL finish

Fulham pulled off one the greatest heists the Premier League has seen in some time as substitute Harry Wilson scored two insane goals in stoppage time to snatch the three points in their west London derby against Brentford.

The Welsh international’s first came in the 92nd minute to equalise at one-all courtesy of a stunning spin move and back heel flick which delicately looped into the far corner of the goal from an Adama Traore cross to the near post.

Wilson may not have entirely meant it but “who cares”, former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov said on Sky Sports.

It was spectacular nonetheless, although his winner was arguably better.

In the 97th minute, Antonee Robinson put in a low cross which picked out Wilson, again at the near-post but this time the ball in came from the left wing, who perfectly lowered his body to header home the match-winning goal.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” Wilson told Sky Sports post-game.

The resulting scenes at Craven Cottage were wild with the home fans going bananas to celebrate their fourth win of the season which puts them ninth on the Premier League table only three points out of the top four.

The wild finish was in some ways what Fulham deserved for their efforts for much of the night.

The Cottagers had a whopping 21 more shots, and ten more shots on target, than their opponents.

The ball was in their possession for 68% of the match, and they completed twice as many passes as Brentford but they trailed for most of the game after superb 25-yard strike to open the scoring in the 24th minute.

Fulham’s persistence paid off however as the Bees once again struggled to hang on to their advantage – they have dropped 14 points from winning positions in only ten games so far this season.

Both sides are back in action on Saturday with Fulham taking on Crystal Palace in another London derby, while Brentford host Bournemouth.
