The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship trophy is heading to Seymour, Wisconsin.
Ty Majeski dominated Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship race at Phoenix Raceway to win the race and the 2024 Truck Series championship.
The victory is Majeski’s sixth in 89 career Truck Series starts. It comes days after Majeski was fined $12,500 for missing Championship Four media day while voting in his home state of Wisconsin.
2024 marked the second Championship Four appearance for the 30-year-old driver. The championship is the sixth for ThorSport Racing, who won three titles with Matt Crafton and two with Ben Rhodes.
“I can’t believe it,” Majeski told Fox Sports. “Huge thank you to Duke and Rhonda Thorson and (crew chief) Joe Shear Jr., he’s one bad dude. This is so much fun, racing with these guys. There’s (been) a lot times in my career where this looks like a far dream. Duke and Rhonda really gave me my third opportunity after I had two opportunities that failed. Just so proud of these (No. 98) guys.”
Corey Heim finished second in the race and the points standings. A restart violation with 51 laps to go sent Heim to the rear of the field, but several quick cautions enabled him to get back to the front and have a shot to pass Majeski.
However, Majeski took off on the race’s final restart and never looked back, winning by 3.9 seconds.
Championship Four drivers Christian Eckes (third) and Grant Enfinger (fifth) pitted for tires with 38 laps to go, but their fresh tires were no match for Majeski’s raw speed.
Heim, Eckes, Nick Sanchez and Enfinger rounded out the top-five, with Taylor Gray, Kaden Honeycutt, Connor Mosack, Rhodes and Layne Riggs completing the top-10.
Other notable finishers include Rajah Caruth in 13th, Brett Moffitt in 16th, Crafton in 19th, Daniel Dye in 24th and Tyler Ankrum in 33rd.
The 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season will begin at the Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 14 with the Fresh From Florida 250.
