The MTV Europe Music Awards are among the most coveted awards in the music industry. This year, the cream of the crop of music gathered in Manchester, England, to recognize the global idols who made us sing and dance over the past 12 months.
This year’s Global Icon award went to rapper Busta Rhymes for his long career and significance in music around the world. Likewise, the Pet Shop Boys received recognition as Pop Pioneers.
The regional awards were presented before the ceremony. Among them, Taylor Swift took home the award for Best US Act, Shawn Mendes was recognized as Best Canadian Act, and Mexican Yeri Mua won the award for Best Latin America North Act.
