    Chawinga, Banda among those named to the NWSL Best and Second XI – Equalizer Soccer

    The National Women’s Soccer League’s Best XI and Second XI of 2024 was officially announced today. Winners were determined by weighted votes, with 40% to NWSL players; 25% to head coaches, general managers, and owners; 25% to the media; and 10% to fans.

    Débutantes to the Best XI include Temwa Chawinga, Barbra Banda, Croix Bethune and Ann-Katrin Berger, all in their first seasons in the NWSL. Defender Emily Sams, now in her second season, also makes her first appearance in a Best XI.

    Goalkeeper: Ann-Katrin Berger, NJ/NY Gotham FC

    Defenders: Emily Sams, Orlando Pride
    Kaleigh Kurtz, North Carolina Courage
    Casey Krueger, Washington Spirit
    Jenna Nighswonger, NJ/NY Gotham FC
     
    Midfielders/Forwards: Temwa Chawinga, Kansas City Current
