England spinner Charlie Dean becomes the third England Women’s cricketer to take a hattrick in Women’s ODI. The off-spinner played a huge role in dismissing South Africa women’s batters and in the process, joined the elite list of players such as James Anderson and Andrew Flintoff, who have achieved this milestone in their illustrious careers.
Notably, the send ODI between England Women and South Africa Women ended in favour of the visitors, who won the game comfortably while chasing a low score of 136. This turned out to be the perfect way to level the ODI series to set up the upcoming fixture in Potchefstroom, as the series decider. Consequently, the Heather Knight-led side made an impressive comeback and kept their chances alive against a spirited South African side.
The star of the match was none other than Charlie Dean who finished with figures of 4/45 in 10 overs which also included a hattrick where she got the wickets of Marizanne Kapp, Nadine de Klerk, and Sinalo Jafta, respectively. This also made her the third England Women’s bowler to take a hattrick in Women’s ODI cricket.
Dean enters the elite list of England bowlers
This incredible bowling performance is something Dean should celebrate as she has also entered the elite list of bowlers who have taken a hat trick in ODI’s. The list also includes the legends such as Andrew Flintoff and James Andreson. Dean has already achieved a lot in international cricket at a young age where she has taken 115 wickets in only 73 International matches.

England will be very confident after this 6-wicket win against the South Africans which has levelled the ODI series. The England batters managed to comfortably chase down the total with Wyatt Hodge and Amy Jone finishing the game for them in the end and keeping the hopes for a Series win alive.
