After the game, Mahomes shared insight into his condition.
“It’s hard to say right now. Adrenaline still going. Usually, it’s the day after (that you can tell),”Mahomes explained.
“I feel like I could have finished the game under different circumstances. I think it was a smart decision to put Carson in.”

Pro Football Talk reported that Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain but avoided a fracture.
“It’s not broken, it’s sore,”Reid confirmed during his postgame remarks.
Despite the setback, Mahomes remained optimistic about his availability.
“I wanted to go back out there, and I probably would have fought a little bit harder if the game had been one score,” he said.
Reid reiterated the team’s cautious approach, stating Mahomes is now “day-to-day.”
He added, “He probably could’ve gone back in. He wanted to go back in. There was no need for that.”
