The West Country road race on March 16 has been named as the official British Athletics trial race for September’s global event in San Diego
The 2025 GetPRO Bath Half will host the official British Athletics trial race for the 2025 World Athletics Road Running Championships Half Marathon.
Athletes who have run times faster than 65 minutes for men or 74 minutes for women over the past two years are now invited to apply for an elite entry to be part of the trial race which will be part of the sold-out Bath Half Marathon on Sunday March 16.
UK Athletics will confirm its full selection criteria for the 2025 World Road Running Championships, including qualifying times, in the coming weeks.
The 2025 World Athletics Road Running Championships will be held over three days in San Diego in September, with the half marathon bringing down the curtain on a weekend of elite running on September 28.
Bath Half-Marathon
All invited British elite athletes must be eligible to compete for GB & NI on the day of the race (March 16).
Athletes wishing to apply to be included in the official trial race should email London Marathon Events’ head of elite athletes, Spencer Barden, or UK Athletics’ Tom Craggs by Friday February 28.
The GetPRO Bath Half will also include an elite age group category for the UK’s best masters runners in age categories 40 and above. Interested athletes must have run the qualifying times set out below at an event on or after Monday January 1, 2024. The entry fee is £25. Applications close at 17:00 on Friday January 31.
