Ben Affleck‘s Brentwood home was unexpectedly visited by military personnel and law enforcement on Thursday, as the FBI and local police investigated a potential link between a drone strike and the ongoing Palisades fire.
The authorities were reportedly searching for security footage to determine the source of the drone that struck an aircraft assisting in firefighting efforts. Despite the heavy presence of National Guard members and law enforcement, Affleck appeared unbothered, having previously interacted with police but not engaging with the soldiers outside his property.

Investigating the drone incident
The Palisades fire, which began on January 7, continues to ravage the area, claiming the lives of at least 27 people, with over 12,000 buildings destroyed. The fire, now 31 percent contained, has been fueled by high winds, although those conditions have recently eased. The investigation into the drone strike is a serious matter, as flying drones in firefighting zones is a federal crime that could lead to up to a year in prison or a fine of 75,000 dollars.
While the authorities work to identify those responsible, firefighting efforts continue, with support from Canadian air tankers and local emergency responders. The quickly damaged airplane has been repaired and resumed its role in combating the flames, which have consumed 60 square miles of land.
While Affleck‘s home and that of his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, have thus far avoided damage, the former couple is actively involved in relief efforts for those affected by the fire. Affleck was seen rushing to Garner‘s home to help ensure the safety of their children as the fire approached.
Garner, in her role as an ambassador for Save The Children, has been providing trauma-informed care to children impacted by the disaster. She is working with Project: Camp to provide emotional support to kids, offering them therapeutic play to help them process the trauma.
“Everyone is just trying to give children a little bit of joy and normalcy,” she shared.
