The 2022 European 400m hurdles silver medallist is under provisional suspension from the Athletics Integrity Unit

Wilfried Happio, a two-time Olympian in the 400m hurdles, has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit for whereabouts failures.

The French athlete narrowly missed out on the Olympic 400m hurdles final at his home Games, placing third in his semi-final with 48.66.

Happio also represented France at the Tokyo Olympics, where he once again made the semi-finals.

The 26-year-old claimed a silver medal in the 400m hurdles at the 2022 European Championships, finishing second behind Karsten Warholm.

Happio has performed at three World Championships, with a best finish of fourth at the 2022 edition in Oregon.

His personal best of 47.41 came in that 400m hurdles final, with Alison dos Santos, Rai Benjamin and Trevor Bassitt taking the podium spots.

Happio also excelled in junior events, with gold medals at both the 2017 European U20 Championships in Grosetto and 2019 European U23 Championships in Gävle respectively.

The French athlete hasn’t raced in 2025 and his last result was an eighth place finish over the 400m hurdles in the 2024 Brussels Diamond League final.
