Meghan Markle could be sued for copyright infringement, as the name of her new podcast is the same as an existing one

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, may be in the eye of the storm and in legal trouble. The actress is about to return to podcasting with her upcoming series, “Confessions of a Founder,” in partnership with Lemonada Media.

The eight-episode series, set to premiere on April 8, will feature candid conversations with successful entrepreneurs who offer insight into the challenges and rewards of creating a successful business.

Meghan Markle gets mocked over the way she uses pretzel bags which some consider reckless

The Duchess of Sussex shared the big news on Instagram, writing, “I’m so excited to share something else I’ve been working on: ‘Confessions of a Founder’, my new podcast with @lemonadamedia. I’ve been talking to incredible women who have made their dreams come true and turned small ideas into hugely successful businesses,” she wrote in part of the post.

The 43-year-old actress announced that the first episode of her new podcast will premiere on April 8.Meghan signed a deal with Lemonada Media in February 2024, after her previous podcast was canceled by Spotify in 2023. Her $20 million deal with the Spotify platform ended up being a fiasco.

“With Love, Meghan’ was not well received

Meghan produces “With Love, Meghan” for Netflix, about cooking and friendship, with Archewell and Sony. Directed by Michael Steed, it finally premiered on March 4th. The reaction was mixed, as it showed another side of the actress that came as no surprise to many.

If anyone thought that her new podcast would show a different side of her, it seems that Internet users are not very interested and are already accusing her of copyrighting her project, which will be launched in about a month’s time.

Even her new podcast is under attack

Yes, you read that right, it seems Meghan will have to win the affection of a certain sector as they are already criticizing her podcast and it is not even out yet.

The criticism is for supposed similarities to other existing podcasts, such as Spotify‘s Confessions of a CEO or a YouTube project by an influencer named Kady Mite.

“It doesn’t surprise me at all. She doesn’t have any original ideas, so why bother with her instead of going with the original?”

“How come Meghan keeps talking about feminism and supporting other women when all she does is STEAL other women’s work?”

“Founder? Founder of all failure, that’s what she is.”

These were some of the comments that could be read on social media. We’ll just have to wait a few weeks to give what she has to offer a chance. Meghan has promised the best of these conversations with women entrepreneurs.
