Former Pakistani pacer wants Babar Azam and Rizwan to be revoked of their central contracts

Sikandar Bakht, a former Pakistani fast bowler, is not happy that Mohammad Rizwan and other big-name cricketers are skipping the National T20 Championship. This all started when Rizwan chose to play club cricket instead of the National T20 Cup. Bakht thinks these players are basically employees of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and should play in every tournament the board puts on. He said they’re not getting paid 6 million rupees a month to play club cricket.

They work for the Pakistan Cricket Board. They get paid 6 million rupees each month, so they need to play in the tournaments the PCB organizes. The PCB needs to step up and make sure these players are available, Bakht said on Geo News.

Bakht even suggested that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi should cancel their central contracts.

This shouldn’t be happening. Mohsin Naqvi needs to be tougher. He seems like a nice guy, but he needs to change how he does things. He needs to ask what’s going on and be strict, even if it means stopping their central contracts, he added.

Rizwan was seen playing a club cricket match in Peshawar on Sunday, and pictures of him doing no-look shots were all over social media.

Rizwan usually tries to play in domestic cricket when he’s not busy with international games. This time, he chose club cricket because he just got back from Umrah in Mecca and wants to chill before the ODI series in New Zealand.

Besides Rizwan, guys like Babar Azam and Naseem Shah also skipped the National T20 Championship at first.

But, they both played for Lahore Blues against Karachi Whites on Tuesday. It wasn’t a great return to domestic cricket for either of them.

Cricket Pakistan reported that Babar opened the batting for Lahore Blues in their second T20 match and only scored 22 runs off 17 balls, with three boundaries.

Naseem also had a rough day, giving up 41 runs in four overs and not taking any wickets.

Rizwan, Babar, and Naseem were all dropped by the national selectors for the current five-match T20 series in New Zealand. A new-look Pakistan team lost the first game by nine wickets.

The three are expected to play in the upcoming ODIs against New Zealand.
