Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 400 was another example of Kyle Larson being Kyle Larson.
The 2021 Cup Series champion ran fourth with under 20 laps to go at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but a fast long-run car and his ability to run the top of the track better than any driver in the field proved to be the difference.
After making relatively quick work of Chase Briscoe and Bubba Wallace, Larson made his way into second behind race leader Alex Bowman. With seven laps to go, Bowman hit the wall in Turn 3, opening a door for an opportunistic Larson.
