The Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals are set to clash in Match 6 of IPL 2025 in Guwahati on Wednesday. Both teams have a lot to think about after taking tough losses in their first games, with KKR falling to Royal Challengers Bengaluru and RR losing to SunRisers Hyderabad.
This match at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium is special because local player Riyan Parag will be leading RR for the first time in his hometown. In his debut match as captain, Parag faced a tough loss to SRH by 44 runs last Sunday.
Guwahati has been a secondary home for RR since IPL 2023, but it hasn’t been great for them so far, as they’ve lost two out of three games played there. Jofra Archer had a rough outing against SRH, giving up a record 76 runs in four overs, so RR might consider replacing him with Wanindu Hasaranga. KKR is also watching Anrich Nortje’s fitness as he recovers from a back strain. If he’s good to go, he could take Spencer Johnson’s spot.
