Manchester City are now seriously considering signing a young goalkeeper who could be a long-term replacement for Ederson, according to a recent report.
Ederson set for Man City exit
It is expected to be a summer of change for the blue side of Manchester at the end of this season, as the club looks to be coming to the end of an era as players like Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Ederson play perhaps their final few games at the Etihad in the coming weeks and months.

Man City and Pep are now ready to go after a player they have been admiring for a while.
Ederson will enter the final year of his contract this summer, and a move to the Middle East could be on the cards. The Brazilian was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last summer, and a new report from The Sun states that Ederson is expected to leave the Etihad to join a team in Saudi Arabia.
The Blues have been linked with signing a new goalkeeper for a while now, with Porto shotstopper Diogo Costa heavily linked with a move to Manchester as Ederson’s replacement. Early this week, The Sun reported that City are also interested in signing Lucas Chevalier from Lille. He is a goalkeeper that has emerged on their radar due to his ball playing abilities, and checks have been made on a regular basis.
Man City considering signing £21m Senne Lammens
The list of potential replacements for Ederson doesn’t stop there, as according to Caught Offside, Man City are drawing up a plan to sign goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
The report states that Lammens has emerged on the radar of several clubs around Europe, with teams such as Manchester United, Newcastle, Arsenal, West Ham and Wolves interested in signing the 22-year-old. Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have also added Lammens to their transfer list should they look to sign a new goalkeeper.
It claims that the Blues are assessing Lammens as a potential successor to Ederson, who earns £100,000 a week at the Etihad, as Pep Guardiola likes the Belgian’s modern goalkeeping sense and distribution skills. City are looking to sign Lammens as well as adding a younger goalkeeper to their ranks to compete with Stefan Ortega.
The report states that Royal Antwerp are looking to get between €20-€25 million for Lammens, which is roughly £16-21 million.
Lammens has been with Royal Antwerp since joining on a free transfer in 2023, but he has had to be patient when it comes to game time, only becoming a regular in the side this season – he has kept seven clean sheets in 30 Jupiler Pro League games.
The Blues may have to act quickly when it comes to signing Lammens, because if Man United let Andre Onana leave, they could also make a move to sign the youngster, who is likely to become Belgium’s number one goalkeeper in years to come.
