NFL Draft intel: Texas CB Jahdae Barron’s bold statement may raise eyebrows

AUSTIN, Texas — Each week, Yardbarker is tracking the 2025 NFL Draft, scheduled April 24-26 in Green Bay.

Here are five players we tracked Tuesday at Texas pro day, which featured talent evaluators from every NFL team and 125 overall, per the Longhorns’ website:

Jahdae Barron reveals what separates him from other CBs

After Texas pro day, Barron explained why he thinks he’s the top corner in the 2025 class.

“I most definitely believe that I am CB1,” Barron said. “I’m so versatile, I can do a lot. I can go play corner, I can play nickel. So, I’m what you need, and I can go through it for you in the most humblest way.”

Barron — who won the 2024 Thorpe Award as college football’s best defensive back — can back up his claim. In three seasons with the Longhorns, he played 1,112 snaps at outside corner, 900 in the slot and 495 in the box, per Pro Football Focus.

Barron (5-foot-11, 194 pounds) didn’t reveal which teams are interviewing him, but he’s expected to be a first-rounder. In Tankathon’s latest mock draft, the Green Bay Packers take him with pick No. 23.

RB Jaydon Blue rebounds from injury, showcases elite speed

Blue may have raised his stock with his performance at pro day. He said he ran a 4.25 and a 4.28 in the 40-yard dash.
