More than goals. More than saves. These women are changing the game on and off the pitch.
You know them for their clutch performances, game-winning goals, and rock-solid defense—but there’s so much more to the players of Parkside’s Pacific Collection. These athletes are entrepreneurs, advocates, mentors, and community leaders. Off the field, they’re making just as much of an impact as they are during the 90 minutes of play.
Here are five standout players from the Pacific Collection who are proving that greatness doesn’t stop at the final whistle.
Ashley Hatch – Mental Health Advocate & Community Engagement
Ashley Hatch’s work off the field is as intentional and inspiring as her play on it. She serves as an ambassador for the Nationwide Community Impact Program, helping direct resources and awareness to nonprofits like Leveling the Playing Field, which provides sports equipment to underserved communities. She’s passionate about using sport as a tool for opportunity and connection—and her impact doesn’t stop there. Hatch also co-hosts the podcast Ditto, which focuses on mental health, wellness, and the often-overlooked emotional journey of being an athlete. She’s opening up conversations that matter and reminding young players that success isn’t just physical—it’s mental, too.
Jess Fishlock – LGBTQ+ Advocate
Jess Fishlock is a living legend on the pitch—and a fearless advocate for LGBTQ+ rights off of it. As one of the most visible openly gay athletes in women’s soccer, Jess has long used her voice to champion inclusivity and authenticity. She’s been honored with an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for her contributions to both football and the LGBTQ+ community—recognition that’s well deserved. Jess continues to break down barriers and show what it looks like to thrive while living your truth. Her legacy is one of excellence, courage, and pride—both in who she is and the game she loves.
Alex Morgan – Advocate & Entrepreneur
Alex Morgan isn’t just a soccer icon—she’s a driving force for change in and beyond the sport. As co-founder of TOGETHXR, a media and commerce company centered around women’s voices, Alex is rewriting the narrative and creating space for stories that have long been overlooked. She also founded the Alex Morgan Foundation, which champions equity for mothers and young girls in sports, with a mission to break down systemic barriers. Whether she’s speaking out on pay equity or building platforms for underrepresented voices, Alex continues to use her influence to lift others up. Her entrepreneurial spirit proves that the fight for equality can start on the field—but it certainly does not end there.
Sarah Gorden – Mental Health & Racial Justice Advocate
Sarah Gorden is blazing a path rooted in healing, empowerment, and advocacy. She founded HoodSpace Chi, a nonprofit dedicated to helping girls of color access mindfulness tools like yoga and meditation to navigate mental health challenges. Her mission is deeply personal—Gorden has openly shared her own experiences with adversity and the importance of mental wellness, especially in communities often overlooked. Through HoodSpace, she’s not only creating safe spaces for reflection and growth, but also sparking conversations about racial justice and self-care. On and off the pitch, Sarah is the definition of leading with purpose and heart.
Lauren Barnes – Youth Empowerment & Sustainability
Lauren Barnes is quietly, but powerfully, using her platform to create a better world for the next generation. She works closely with Football For Her, a nonprofit organization that provides inclusive soccer spaces for young girls and nonbinary youth. Barnes is passionate about access and equity in sport—and she’s putting her money where her mouth is. She donates a portion of her salary to Common Goal, a global initiative that channels soccer dollars into social impact projects worldwide. Whether she’s mentoring young players or supporting climate-conscious causes, Barnes is proof that a sustainable future starts with compassionate leadership.
