Former Indian opener drops a massive truth bomb regarding Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal has the chance to cement his place as India’s next great opener in all forms of cricket. In 22 Tests, Jaiswal has scored 2031 runs, averaging 50.77. He has already hit five centuries, with a high score of 214*. During the current England vs India Test series, Jaiswal has scored a century and a half-century. Still, he had low scores of 13 and 0 in the third Test.

Robin Uthappa, a member of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup team, said Jaiswal looked uneasy. Yashasvi didn’t seem comfortable at all from the start. The first ball he faced, a short, cut ball, he would usually dominate. But he seemed stuck, unsure whether to play or not, and then he left it. He’s usually very sure about his shots, so that didn’t seem like a decent start. You could see he wasn’t sure how to approach it. Because they only needed 190 runs, he seemed undecided. The shot seemed like an afterthought, Uthappa spoke on his YouTube channel. He (Nair) left it right at the last second. I don’t think he watched it coming in and made that choice as the ball approached him. Before that, he was batting really strong.

Former Sri Lanka opener Kumar Sangakkara was also not impressed with Yashasvi Jaiswal’s shaky seven-ball duck during India’s chase of a 193-run target against England during the third Test at Lord’s. Jaiswal seemed tired and couldn’t find his rhythm, eventually losing his wicket to Jofra Archer. With three slips, short leg, and a gully, Archer delivered a fast 141kph short ball outside off, forcing a thick top-edge. The ball went straight up and landed in the gloves of wicketkeeper Jamie Smith, and Jaiswal was out without scoring. In the first innings, Jaiswal also fell to Archer, scoring 13 off 8 balls.

Sangakkara talked about the youngster’s approach on Sky Sports, saying, Watching Jaiswal in the first over, he didn’t look comfortable or confident. He has been fielding at short leg for India a lot and came out looking a bit weary.
