Saucony’s Chicago Marathon Kinvara 16 Shoe! – Chicago Athlete Magazine

Just in time for the Chicago Marathon, Saucony has released the Chicago Kinvara 16 in both men’s and women’s sizing. This lightweight training shoe is the perfect shoe to show your Chicago pride while maximizing comfort. I can’t wait to wear this shoe for my entire week of recovery runs post-marathon.

The eye-catching design truly encapsulates the spirit of our city with the color combination and style captured in the shoe. The classic Chicago blue darkens as it reaches the back end of the shoe to showcase our city’s flag design.

“This Chicago edition is inspired by the iconic city flag, featuring its blue and white colors and four six-pointed red stars symbolizing significant events in the city’s history.” – Saucony Website

I had the opportunity to try this shoe out during taper week and love the support it provides to my feet through the miles.

The 4mm offset of the shoe allows for a smooth ride with little friction being placed on the foot’s arches. The material is cooling and cushioned creating a pillow-like feel for the feet. The shoe is designed for speed and daily training.

I have been using the Kinvara 16 for my taper runs this week and love the support and recovery it has provided. I plan to test out their speed performance at the Chicago 5K this Saturday and will report back. As a Chicago girl, I love the appearance of these shoes. I’m a sucker for anything in the Chicago Blue!

You can grab your pair at the Chicago Marathon Expo this Thursday-Saturday. Saucony is also hosting a demo run at Fleet Feet located at 1023 S Delano Ct tomorrow, Thursday, October 9th at 6pm.

You can check out the full line up of Saucony’s events this week here. Everything is free to attend as long as you’re registered.

Thanks to Saucony for creating a shoe that is reflective of our city and especially of our runners!
