Öhlins Refocuses: BTI & QBP Take Over U.S. MTB Distribution

Öhlins USA has transitioned to a distributor-only model for its mountain bike division, partnering exclusively with Bicycle Technologies Inc. (BTI) and Quality Bicycle Products (QBP).

If you’re a shop wrench or dealer, that means no more direct orders from Öhlins. Instead, BTI and QBP will handle all U.S. dealer distribution, streamlining access to Öhlins forks, shocks, service kits, and small parts.

“By working with BTI and QBP, we’re ensuring that Öhlins products are easier than ever for dealers to access,” said Jake Thompson, MTB Manager at Öhlins USA. “Our team remains focused on innovation and rider support while our partners handle logistics with speed and efficiency.”

    Why It Matters

Offloading distribution to two of the biggest names in the U.S. gives Öhlins more bandwidth to refine the products that riders obsess over: the buttery-smooth TTX Air, the ultra-precise RXF36, and the full range of coil and air suspension systems that have made their way onto everything from World Cup DH bikes to weekend trail rigs.

    What’s Changing

    • Dealers will now place all Öhlins MTB orders through BTI or QBP.
    • BTI and QBP will stock the complete Öhlins catalog, including forks, shocks, service kits, and tools.
    • Warranty and service will continue through Öhlins’ existing service-center network.
    • BTI will add factory-level fork and shock repairs, while QBP expands its in-house suspension service.
    • End customers can now order through most local bike shops, cutting lead times and reducing costs.

For riders, this means less waiting and more riding —a win for anyone who has ever been stuck mid-season waiting on a shock rebuild or replacement damper.

    The Bigger Picture

The announcement comes at a time when Öhlins has been steadily expanding its mountain bike offerings, blending its motorsport pedigree with trail-ready refinement. It also comes shortly after it was announced that Brembo purchased Ohlins Racing, and refreshed their MTB development goals. While the release mentions nothing about Brembo MTB brakes being included, it seems likely that if the Brembo prototype brakes that they’ve been working on with the Specialized Gravity team ever materialize, they too could be offered through this partnership.

This move allows them to focus on product development and testing, rather than managing warehouse operations.

Significantly, nothing changes inside Öhlins USA’s Hendersonville, NC headquarters; the same staff, service crew, and suspension wizards are still spinning knobs and pushing performance forward.

“With new ownership, new products, and new distribution channels, the future for Öhlins mountain bike is stronger than ever,” Thompson added.
