A video of a Chicago Bulls staff member trying to recruit New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson has resurfaced. There has been a lot of buzz around the Pelicans’ plans for Williamson ahead of the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline. In the middle of this, an old video has been brought up.
It’s a video posted on TikTok by the account @courtsideshod from a year ago. It showed a fan was recording while waiting for a photo opportunity with Williamson at the United Center in Chicago. As the star forward was walking, he greeted one of the Bulls’ staff members, who brought up the big man’s interest in joining the organization.
Thanks for the submission!
“Heard you want to play for us?” the Bulls staffer said.

Williamson was surprised by what was said to him and told the staffer to lower his voice about the subject.
“Whoa. Don’t say it out loud,” Williamson said.
While that footage was from a year ago, it hasn’t stopped Williamson from being linked to the Bulls. Ahead of the trade deadline, ClutchPoints insider Brett Siegel reported that Chicago could be a potential landing spot for the former Duke star.
“I’ve heard that there’s been some smoke there about Chicago scouting New Orleans in recent weeks, and Zion would be the ideal buy-low candidate for a team like the Bulls who have a lot of expiring contracts,” Siegel said.
What the Pelicans intend to do with Zion Williamson has not been disclosed. His injury history has affected his trade value in the market. The organization might not get a high return value for the two-time All-Star. This season, he’s averaged 22.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists through 23 games.
The Pelicans are reportedly informing teams of Zion Williamson’s unavailability in the trade market
The Pelicans are one of the most talked-about teams in the trade market. Aside from Zion Williamson, players like Trey Murphy III and Herb Jones have been linked to several trade reports. However, Senior NBA Insider for NBA on Prime, Chris Haynes reported that the organization has shut down conversations with teams.
According to Haynes, Williamson and several other players aren’t available in the trade market.
“Sources: New Orleans Pelicans are disappointing the market in informing teams that Zion Williamson, Trey Murphy, Herb Jones, Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears will remain with the organization past Feb. 5 trade deadline,” Haynes reported.
The Pelicans are at the bottom of the Western Conference, with an 8-31 record. Even with that, the organization looks like it has some plans for Zion Williamson and the rest of the team.
