Truth about claims Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose) is returning to WWE for a Shield reunion – Reports

A recent report regarding Jon Moxley (FKA Dean Ambrose) has just come out. This is related to the potential return of a WWE star, including a possible reunion of The Shield.

Mox has cemented himself as one of the biggest names in the industry, following his runs with WWE, AEW, and other major promotions. Despite being with the Jacksonville-based promotion for some time now, there will always be rumors going around about him reuniting with The Shield. Sean Ross Sapp recently went on Facebook to debunk this after a page claimed this was going to be the case.

Sapp has also set the record straight with a report on Fightful Select. After shutting down the fake post by Facebook handle “SmackDown Live Fans”, he has reported that Jon Moxley is not going anywhere anytime soon. The claims of a move to the Stamford-based promotion are not supported by any facts.

Jon Moxley is the AEW Continental Champion

At AEW Worlds End, Moxley beat Kazuchika Okada to win the Continental Classic and become the new Continental Champion. Despite being all banged up after the tournament, he has not taken any time off and has competed in two eliminator matches in two weeks.

The leader of the Death Riders seems to thrive as the champion, as matches under Continental rules are pure competition, with a 20-minute time limit for added pressure. Last week, he faced off against Josh Alexander, and this week, he took on Shelton Benjamin. Mox ended up winning both contests, proving that no one deserves an actual shot at his belt.

Jon Moxley at the start of 2025 and at the start of 2026 are two different people, as he has now organically gotten over with the crowd, and has shifted to being in the middle of being a face and a heel. With this, it does not seem like he is going anywhere, as he is thriving in his current role in AEW.
