    Viewbotting allegations against Asmongold, explained

Twitch streamer Zack “Asmongold” was recently accused of altering his broadcast viewership by viewbotting after his fellow platform member and political commentator Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker called him out. For context, in a stream on January 9, 2026, Hasan opened Asmon’s stream just as the latter navigated to the former’s follower analytics.

Asmongold switched over to HasanAbi’s TwitchTracker page and clicked on the streamer’s follower analytics, saying:

“I’ll see if he is doing it today or not.”

The graph Asmon displayed showed a rapid increase in Hasan’s follower count within a short period, soon after he started his stream on January 9. Asmon sarcastically went on to express himself, saying:

“What is this show? Oh, no. Oh, no. Wait, what is this show? Oh, what’s this? Oh, no. Wait, I’m confused. What are these?”

Hasan responded sharply, claiming that bots or false viewers were added as followers to his stream channel without his involvement:

“Yeah, I get f**king I get follower-botted it all the time. What?”

Right after HasanAbi said this, Asmongold clarified that he does not intend to hold his fellow streamer accountable, mainly because such increases in follower or viewership count could be due to third-party involvement. That being said, he did call out some hypocrisy on Hasan’s end for consistently levelling accusations of viewbotting:

“He’s not accountable for this. I’m not blaming Hassan for this. But the idea that you’re going to go around and constantly delegitimize and accuse me of viewbotting when your channel is getting follower-botted…”

After reacting to Asmon’s stream for a bit, Hasan went on to call foul play regarding Asmon’s viewership, pointing out the sub-to-viewer and viewer-to-chatter ratios:

“He has 7,000 subs with 61,000 people watching. I have 49,000 subs with 43,000 people watching. And you can always look at chatters as well. If you look at my current chatter count, and it shows it right here, there’s 39,000 active chatters in my chat.”

HasanAbi and Asmongold go back and forth on X

Following the on-stream fiasco, an Asmongold community member posted a screenshot of Asmon’s viewcount being over 35,000 more than Hasan’s.

    Hasan responded, saying:

“when twitch purged bots asmongold lost half his viewership for two days and stopped streaming on the third day lmao. he’s also openly admitted that ‘someone’ must be botting him but it’s okay keep coping about how popular the pro ice murdering moms position is in the real world.”

For context, in August 2025, Twitch launched comprehensive bot crackdown measures, and third-party trackers started seeing sharply lower viewership numbers across the platform. Hasan essentially claimed that Asmon’s viewership took a blow after the bot purge.

Asmongold later responded with a screenshot of his stream analytics from TwitchTracker, showing a relatively normal viewership trend. He captioned his post:

    “Verifiable false information, as always.”

    HasanAbi then responded, saying:

“i like that your info shows you’re viewbotting, you admit to it but i was wrong on the percentage of bots purged. glad you’re finally out of the 43% active viewership gutters you were in though! your time as a right wing outrage farmer is coming to a close soon tho! midterm pivot.”

Asmongold then concluded the back-and-forth with a photo of a smiling seal.
