Ticket Prices for Indiana vs. Miami: It will cost an arm and leg to attend National Championship

While the Indiana Hoosiers making it to the College Football Playoff National Championship was not a surprise to anyone, the Miami Hurricanes have made it on a bit of a Cinderella run. Miami was easily one of the best teams in the country throughout the regular season, but they nearly didn’t make it to the CFP. Once they did, they took full advantage.

The Hurricanes, despite being the underdog heading into the game, will have the home field advantage: the National Championship will be played in their home, Hard Rock Stadium. That, combined with Indiana playing for their first-ever national title, will make this potentially the most expensive edition yet – and by a long shot.

Average ticket price for College Football Playoff National Championship surpasses $5K

According to Gametime, the cheapest ticket for the game going around right now is over $3,500. Along with an average ticket price of nearly $5,600, this game is set to break records. Per Nick Bromberg of Yahoo Sports, these were the average prices of the past five National Championships.

    • 2025: Notre Dame vs. Ohio State – $2,716
    • 2024: Washington vs. Michigan – $1,975
    • 2023: TCU vs. Georgia – $1,292
    • 2022: Georgia vs. Alabama – $1,088
    • 2021: Ohio State vs. Alabama – $1,760

Working in the 2026 edition’s favor – to the detriment of fans trying to buy tickets – is the Hurricanes essentially playing a home game, plus Indiana fans who are desperate to watch their school win a championship.

Hoosiers fans came out in droves for the semifinals. Even Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti made note of it in his postgame comments, saying that “there’s nothing like having a home semifinal game“. That game was in Atlanta. Miami isn’t too much farther away, especially for such a monumental game.
